On to More Pleasant Topics
Nov. 9th, 2006 05:25 pmMy displeasure at the midterm elections results having lasted only a day (I know of some liberals who can take a cue from my example *cough2000PresidentialElectionscoughcoughHAAACK* hmm, love those hairballs), I turn my attention to matters at hand.
The bosses hired my replacement last week and I just spent the last two hours training her. She had been in on Tuesday for training as well, so this isn't the first tim. It's funny how things turn out, but she was actually my neighbor last fall, so I already knew her from that. We weren't bosom buddies, but we knew each other, which makes the experience a little more bearable. I was afraid it would be some crotchety old lady who needed a job while waiting for her Social Security check to come in and would yell at me because she wouldn't know how to turn on the stupid computer. Good luck training somebody like that.
Anyway, she was talking about the day she was hired and how the bosses didn't want to have to hire a replacement for me because they really did like me and the only problem was scheduling and things of that nature. The new girl also kept saying how sorry she was that she was my replacement and that kind of stuff. The irony is that I'm graduating next semester and high-tailing it out of Logan for... somewhere. At least, that's the plan, even though I haven't told anybody about the "high-tailing it" part. Why let people know more than is necessary? They might be more willing to cut me off, which I do not need at this particular juncture.
Love from,
