Go Kill 'em Rabbits! and The Missing Day
Nov. 6th, 2006 12:37 pmElation has settled in the land of the Wildcat. The Delta Rabbits football team beat Cedar last Friday, which means they're going to the 3A football playoffs at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake. The best part? They're playing Snow Canyon, who beat Logan High (aka The Best 4A Team in the 3A Division). Delta also beat Tooele (who was about to rival BYU in the crime of over-gloating until they were served a heaping plate of Rabbit Humble Pie -- wish BYU would follow...) and Grantsville isn't going to the playoffs either. No irony lost here!
In completely unrelated news, MuggleCast #62 has received a listener rebuttal about how there is no Missing Day because Harry's parents were killed on the night on October 31 and Harry was delivered to the Dursley's the night of November 1. For those who don't know (which, apparently includes the MuggleCasters), the Missing Day is not so much that we're missing October 32 or whatever, it's that we don't know where Hagrid and baby Harry were during the daytime hours of November 1 (duh... The HP Lexicon even says that there are 12 hours not accounted for).
So now, MuggleCast is buying into this listener's theory because she's taking the theory at it's literal face value. Of course, the mental giant Ben Schoen comes in and proclaims this is correct because he is Ben Schoenand a moron. I'd like MC to bring Steve Vander Ark (the boss of the HP Lexicon) on the show to explain this theory, because apparently, some MuggleCast listeners Just Don't Get It (of course, that would be like bringing William Shakespeare to a fanfiction writer's convention...oooh, buuuurn). In fact, this is one of those moments that I wonder why I even subscribe to MuggleCast. I guess if they ever kicked Jamie, Micah and/or Eric off MC, I would have my reasons to become a PotterCast-only podcaster (that would certainly save hard drive space on my laptop).
The part that annoys me is that PotterCast had a whole Canon Conundrums about the Missing Day and now some twit comes in and tells us there's no Missing Day based on the calendar. Well, no spit there's no missing day in that sense. I guess the theory should be called The Missing Harry and Hagrid During the Day theory just to make all these twerps feel better about themselves. Sheesh, I hate stupid people like that (and the fact that I missed lunch to e-mail Ben Schoen that he's an idiot doesn't make me feel any better).
Love from,
Jenny Wildcat
PS, I really do like MuggleCast (they had an excellent discussion of Luna Lovegood in episode 62). It's just that they're giving airtime to this rebuttal without clarifying what the theory actually is. And Ben annoys me quite often.
