Oh... what the heck? Might as well. I may end up with another one, but I'm bored:
(snagged from
rosevixen )
1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Volunteered at a high school. Later, I went on to work at that same high school (another first for me!)
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Seeing as how I never make any resolutions to keep, nope.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but my sister's expecting so the answer to that will change next year.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No
5. What countries did you visit?
Reno (beat) Just kidding - didn't travel anywhere outside the US.
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
A Master's degree, a steady job and my own place (either I rent or own - doesn't matter to me)
7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 14, though I'm not at liberty to say why.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting into grad school and getting halfway done with my Master's degree!
9. What was your biggest failure?
(I could probably keep what
rosevixen had here when I copy/pasted this. Actually, I'll just leave it here and let it stand!) Being taken in by the misrepresentation of feelings by a boy.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing major *knock on wood*
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The Lappy Mark 2!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Kathryn. That woman's a saint no matter what year it is!
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Some family members. I try to avoid getting sucked into their BS (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't).
14. Where did most of your money go?
School and upkeep on my car. More enjoyably - BOOKS!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Doctor Who! The one thing that actually made my summer bearable. Oh, and meeting Sarah Palin and Sean Hannity at a couple of book signings.
16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
"Starlight" by Muse - only because I played it ad nauseum in my car (I usually drive alone, so I can do that)
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? I'm content enough, so I'm not sure
ii. thinner or fatter? I don't keep track of this - who the heck knows?
iii. richer or poorer? statistically speaking, I'm probably slightly richer this year (having a job helps)
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Reading and writing
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying about things that I have zero control over
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Hanging out with family (until they totally get on my nerves - then I sequester myself in my room and play on the internet or read)
21. How will you be spending New Years?
Watching the ball drop out of bleary eyelids then sleeping in until noon the next day
22. Did you fall in love in 2010?
I fell in love with "Doctor Who" - does that count?
23. How many one-night stands?
...um... no.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
DOCTOR-freaking-WHO!!! (I feel like this is getting slightly repetitive... maybe I should branch out into other areas?)
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Anyone? No one specific - more like great swaths of idiots.
26. What was the best book you read?
"The Hunger Games" trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Seriously - this deserves the attention more than Twilight does!
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Muse - which I had only been ignoring because of the Twilight weirdness going on. But I then found out that they are a very good band even without the "Team Edward" teeny-boppers.
28. What did you want and get?
A new laptop!
29. What did you want and not get?
A job that required I leave my parents house (and give me the ability to afford to do so).
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
It's a tie between Iron Man 2 and Toy Story 3
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Oh gosh, I can't remember what I did... I think we had cake and ice cream and I got a couple of presents and I watched one of the last episodes of "24" - EVER! *sniffle* Oh, and I turned 25.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Getting out of my parents' house.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
My what now?
34. What kept you sane?
Doctor Who and Kathryn
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Oh... no one in particular...

I mean, there are just so many fanciable male celebrities out there...

It's hard to choose just one.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Health care, I guess. The November Elections were tons of fun, though. It's always nice when your team totally KICKS ASS!!
37. Who did you miss?
*shrugs* no one, really.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Kari who is in the Relief Society presidency with me. And she's leaving on her mission... holy crap - TODAY! O_O!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010.
"Life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant." - The Doctor from "Vincent and the Doctor"
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Just a song lyric? How 'bout a whole song?
