I'm So Much Cooler Online

One more thing: I was in our weekly Monday meeting and somebody was discussing some kind of baseball trivia. I'm not really into baseball, so I didn't participate, but I mentioned that I'm really into football and I was excited for football season getting going. One of my co-workers, an older lady, was asking me about it and I mentioned that my brother helped me get set up on NFL.com's Fantasy Football yesterday.
The exchange went something like this:
My co-worker: You play football online?
Me: I'm going to.
My co-worker: Do you have a social life?
Me: (with a note of pride) Nope!
My co-worker: You're too cute to be online all the time.
Me: Like the Brad Paisley song says: I'm so much cooler online!
(The real exchange sounded better in real life)
I just point this out because it's always the older adults who say I'm cute and whatever. Others probably have this same experience, especially from family, but it's always older people who do this. Maybe it's because adults can compliment younger people on their looks without feeling weird. I guess if a guy my age told me I was cute, there's the potential for weird awkwardness (Guy: "So, you're kinda cute." Me: "Thank you" .... .... *crickets chirp* ...... and we'll quietly walk in opposite directions).
I dunno, it was just a weird moment for a random LJ post.
PS, I'm excited about the Fantasy Football because my brother did it last year and it looked like a lot of fun. Plus, it would be something to do with my family when I'm away from them (my dad and probably my sister will be in the league plus some of my parents' neighbors back home - my brother started this whole thing last year). And it's cool when I was explaining FF to some people in my Family Home Evening group and one of the guys said "I've never heard of a girl that loved football, much less do Fantasy Football." Yeah, that was pretty awesome ^_^
That being said, this is my first year doing FF. No promises on any success.
