The Beginning of the End

Second day of my last semester. You'd think I would feel a little sentimental, but really all I feel is ecstatic that I got all but one of my textbooks online cheaper than I would have at the bookstore. Even with paying extra for expedited shipping, I ended up spending $150 less than I was planning (and no, I'm not taking you to lunch. My car still needs an oil change, after all).
Okay, so the game plan: I'm pretty much without a job, but since I was so incredibly smart whilst employed and saved my moneys, I'm pretty much looking at it as I actually have time to enjoy my senior year. I might even be able to produceperfect fairly decent work for my classes.
Monday:
Creative Non-Fiction 10:30-11:20 - eh... it's a class
Institute 11:20-12:30 - Institute during the day!!!1!1!
Four hour break - which I will love come Finals week
Creative Writing Senior Capstone 4:30-7:00 - This might actually kick my butt. A full rough draft of a ten-page manuscript due in two weeks (because of the MLK vacation). I have a few ideas, so I'll see what comes of it. The best part: we'll work on them during class so by the time the semester's over, they'll be ready for submission to be published (published... *sparkly, twinkly eyes*)
Tuesday:
Studies in Prose Fiction 12:00-1:15 - American Short Story. It'd be nice to have one class that isn't devoted to writing, even though it comes complete with the typical literary studies final paper/presentation (blah). I may want to get there early and sit up front, since the professor is a little soft-spoken,which I guess happens where you're old enough to look like you've been put in the oven for a while.
Advanced Fiction Writing 3:00-5:30 - Check back with me on this
Wednesday:
Same as Monday until 4:00
Institute: Principles of Leadership 4:00 - Had this the past two semesters. Looking forward to it, as always
IWA IC Meeting 5:00 - Public Relations Officers are in charge of Women's Conference in February, which means Lotz of Stress, OMG, MeetingsGaloreandborrowthecreditcardfromJill. All worth it, of course. Better stress than booking it between work and class.
Chapter Presidency Meeting 6:00 - Planning chapter activities. It beats sitting at home watching roommates play footsie withleeches boyfriends
Chapter Activity 7:00 - Four hours at the Institute. What can I say? Not all of us go out for Honors Society.
Thursday
Same as Tuesday, except:
Advanced Poetry Writing 3:00-5:30 - This gets confusing, because it's even in the same room as Fiction Writing. Not much to say yet.
Friday
Non-Fiction Writing Only
Maybe I'll get away early some weekends. Who knows?
So, that's the rundown of my last semester as a college student and then I have to be a full-fledged adult, as opposed to the half-adult I am now. I guess some of us don't need the Shikon Jewel to get to the next level ^_^
"24" starts on Sunday!! WHEEEE!!! And the sun's shining in Logan, in January (until Friday, at least)
Love from,
Jenny Wildcat
