I Win.

I'm still as busy as hell and am thisclose to possibly losing my job, but I got a comment from [profile] shellic about my last post.[Unknown site tag]

Life will continue ^_^

Actually, work was better today.  Dave (who is one of the Big Bosses That Isn't a Broker), came up to me and asked very nicely if there was any way that I could just spend an hour at the office each Monday and Wednesday.  After considering his request for a moment, I figured that I could and he was satisfied with that.  So, between my Teaching Literature class and my MWF US History class, I will spend an hour at the office, which falls during the lunch break when Kim and Irene may or may not be around.  The only one we have left to convince is Judith, but now that Dave is happy with my schedule, I don't think I have a whole lot to worry about.  Mostly the argument Dave had was that he didn't want to go through trying to hire someone again and there really wasn't any big problem with what I was doing, which is what everyone else was saying, but Judith's opinion is the one that matters - well, hers and Chris's, but what Chris is thinking is so hard to pin down that it's not much comfort to consider that his opinion counts as well.  Bleagh...

In other news, the American Legion was in Salt Lake today, which means President Bush was visiting, which means that Rocky and his Band of Unwashed Hippies were out in full force and plastered all over the TV.  (Seriously, I don't think they've taken a bath since before Woodstock.)  That's what I love about these protesters: they're all about getting the message out:

Reporter: What do you want to accomplish here today?
Protestor: We want to get our message out!!!!! (cheers and drunken screams)
Reporter: Once your message is out, what will you do?
Protester (taken aback by the sudden thought of a future plan, but bounces back with ease): We'll get our message out even more!!! (cheers and drunken, acid trip screams)

Yeah, that's about it.  And the lovely wacky weed.  It seems to have infiltrated PotterCast as well.  Apparently, the love Harry possesses means that the cult of Global Warming has a leg to stand on, according to the recent graduate school leftist indoctrination product that was the subject of the fan interview this week.  If Matt Lewis hadn't referenced John Wayne later in the show, I would have never listened to PC again.  If that's the sort that the fan interviewers are going to find, I'd prefer that they didn't even do it.  I listen to PotterCast to escape hearing the political drivel that everyone else is so fond of repeating.  I can watch 20/20 and get this sort of politically correct BS that we're "supposed" to care about, but I choose not to, thank you very much.  I have a life and a living to make and I simply can't be bothered, like the rest of the mainstream population of the world.  It may sound callous, but quite frankly Scarlet, I don't give a damn.

Speaking of our lovely Neville Longbottom, I think I figured out why I can't place him in an acceptable ship.  I think (and this makes me very sad) that he is destined to kick the bucket.  I don't want him to, but I don't know that he's going to make it through book 7.  There are other things pointing to this, like Harry wondering if, had Voldemort gone for Neville, would his mother die for Neville or would the spell work the way it did for Lily at all. Neville's not part of the Trio and we have established that the Trio and Ginny will survive, but Neville is another story.  He will go out in a blaze of glory if he does go out.  Stay tuned for further brainwaves.

Love from,
