I thank my favorite movie parody website,
www.jerrythefrogproductions.com, for my subject line. This particular
one comes from the puppet show for "The Lord of the Rings: The Return
of the King", I do believe. Currently, the site is down, which makes us
all very, very sad :(
Yeah, so I'm working on my French homework and my roommate comes home from work and sees that I am trying to work in my bedroom (I have the, ahem, pleasure of sharing a bedroom with the roommate in question), but has to butt in and say how good she is at the basics of French (which leaves me thinking "WTF?!"). She then says, and I quote, "If you need any help at all, you know where to find me." I replied that I had everything under control and then she said "Are you sure?" Now I'm getting a little more than pissed. I reply (in as sarcastic a tone as I could manage) "I'm pretty sure". Well, it doesn't sound so interfering in writing, but it did as I was sitting here. The best part is that she picks up my textbook from my lap and points out that "Quelle est la date d'aujourd'hui?" means "What is today?"
First off, I showed no signs of needing any help. Second, this is the latest in a series of this same girl giving me the schpiel of "I'm-so-helpful-let's-be-best-buddies-all-the-world's-a-service-project". I ranted about this last night in my handwritten journal, but the basic idea is this: I am a private person. I keep to my own business and expect others to do the same. I don't tell people what they don't need to know. If people come busting into what I'm doing, there will be a fight before too long. The really annoying part is that EVERYONE thinks this girl is so wonderful because she's so friendly and willing to help, to which I reply, no, she isn't. She's a nosy busybody that needs a swift kick up the you-know-what. Maybe I should just go off on her and then everyone would leave me alone. Sounds like a start to a beautiful hermit existence. Now I'm going to get comments about how harsh I am and how I should just sit her down and talk to her about it, like a civil human being. Would I be this ticked off about it if I hadn't tried that already? >[ (I guess that little guy looks angry)
Hopefully next entry will be more upbeat and something pertinent to discuss, but I needed to rant and rave for a minute. I think I can live with myself now. It did rain today, which made for a nice change of pace. ('Kay, when you're reduced to talking about the weather in a blog, it's time to hit "Update" and get on with life).
Love from,
Jenny Wildcat
