Next up - "The Time of Angels"/"Flesh and Stone"

The Weeping Angels strike back... but they were a lot scarier (and a lot more fun) in "Blink."  I dunno... all that sneaking around to avoid them and they all just get sucked into that weird space and time crack seemed a little... anti-climatic.  Especially after the whole "the image of an Angel becomes the Angel" thing - that was good.  Amy having to close her eyes so the Angel didn't kill her was a nice touch - that end just felt like "okay, we have to end the episode, how do we resolve all this..."

River Song bugs me.  She's just so... I can't describe it - maybe it's the fact that she points to the ultimate demise of the Doctor, which I don't like one little bit.  Why resurrect the series after so long if you're going to keep reminded us that he's going to die for dead at some point?  I guess I don't like her whole "I know something you don't know" attitude.

Amy is wonderful as usual... until the end.  Then she tries to seduce the Doctor (what, are we trying to put the kibosh on any Doctor/Amy shippers before they get going?)  Very out of character for her - I didn't like it very much.  But she was great in the rest of the story.  I just... why???

The Crack - So, are we to understand that the events in "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" were written out of time?  And all the things the Tenth Doctor did?  Like, they never, ever happened?  No wonder this series feels so apart from the rest of it!  Not cool.  Just, not cool.

Knee-jerk reaction - This story wasn't my favorite.  But the series is not over yet and the one saving grace here is that there is something very wrong with Amy that transcends this one story.  And it's up to the Doctor to figure it out (has to have something to do with that crack in her bedroom wall when she was a kid).  There had better be a good explanation because I am just annoyed right now (but not so annoyed that I'm not going to finish - good thing the series built a good rapport with me in those first three episodes).

I decided I'm going to dress up as the Tenth Doctor for Halloween, so I went to the DI to see if they had either a brown or blue pinstriped suit or a pair of Converse sneakers.  It was a no on the shoes, but there was a jacket.  Problem was, there were no matching pants - at least, none that I could find.  I was a little rushed, though, since the store was going to close in 20 minutes.  I may have to go to Salt Lake since our local DI is pretty small and it's unlikely I'll find exactly what I need.  Good thing I'm starting on my costume early, right?

Sisters are here and we're about to go see "Eclipse."  And to commemorate the occasion (click to embiggen, 'cause it's funny) -
