I Had a Sword

Okay, okay, Mom's going to kill me, but -- I caved last night. I went out and bought the first season of Heroes on DVD. Eh, I was getting tired of the Chinese subtitles on TV Links. Besides, I think my roommate should be able to share in my joy (I've already got her converted to football ^_^).
To be honest, I don't know if this is merited, but there may still be people who have been able to avoid spoilers. Somehow, I managed to do it. Or it could be that everyone who really cares has already seen everything, but I'm just courteous like that
In other news, Faith Hill is going to sing "Waiting All Week for Sunday Night," which is the theme song for NBC's Sunday Night Football (think Hank Williams, Jr. and "Are You Ready for Some Football?"). This makes me happy. Pink was okay last year, but she seemed a little... punkish... for football. And I'm glad that they're sticking with a female (no offense to Hank Jr.) - yes, girls do watch football.
Speaking of, my brother's high school football team plays tomorrow and guess who gets to go watch? Yup, I'm getting off early and making the three hour trek to Delta tomorrow to be there by 7:00. I'm staying home all weekend. And my aunt and uncle and cousins are coming out too!(The sane ones, not the... unsane ones...) This is going to be a good weekend ^_^
ETA: They announced the nominees for the CMA Awards! My boy Brad Paisley was nominated for Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year (with not a very deep pool of nominees, though. I'm surprised Alan Jackson, Toby Keith or Tim McGraw weren't nominated... hm... :-/ But George Strait is in the group), Single of the Year ("Ticks"), Video of the Year ("Online" - will pwn all) and Entertainer of the Year (SQUEEEEEEE!!!). There's some stiff competition in that last category, but go Brad!! ^_^
As far as the female vocalists go, Carrie "Bratz Doll" Underwood was nominated, but I'm not too worried. Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert will torch her candy-ass (and Alison Krauss will bring the matches ^_^)

I finished up to episode 6, which, I'm waiting for Micah to show some power (maybe it's he's a boy genius :-/) DL shows up and it turns out that he's the mysterious guy that helped kidnap Mark and who... did that ... whatever... to Brody (punk... he deserved it). Between DL and Niki, Micah should be showing something cool soon.
Man, I'm disappointed in Claire's biological parents. After going to all the trouble to establish that she's adopted and finding out who they were, they served no conceivable purpose. Unless I'm missing something that'll be addressed later, why even bother?
Hiro wins at life. That's it. After Alter-Ego!Niki killed those poker guys, Hiro was all depressed about not being to save them (and I was yelling at the TV - "You do NOT depress the adorable one!!") Then he gets the call from Peter and finds out - not that they have to go to New York or that there are other people with super powers or that they have to save a cheerleader. None of that. He finds out that he ends up with a sword. XDDD (yeah, the other stuff was important, but the sword was just... yay!) I need to find an icon with that quote. That's my mission today in my downtime - find some good Heroes icons and see if someone used that quote somewhere (or I may just try my own hand at some of this and do it myself).
