I probably have something to that effect before. I reuse a lot of jokes.
The real reason I hate soccer is that all the "intellectual" types think that because soccer is popular internationally that everyone in America should like it and all the other sports most Americans like are stupid. It grates on my nerves because I never got into soccer and I really like football and basketball (I only have energy for so many things). If they'd quit being so smug and superior about it, I might be open to attending a game or two. But at this point, I'd much rather go to a Blaze game than an RSL game (more accurately, I'd rather eat a poisonous lizard and wash it down with live coals than go to an RSL game).
