uuuuuuggggghhhh....
Nov. 12th, 2007 09:20 amYup, it's definitely time for my yearly bout with a cold. This time, I guess it wanted to hit me with a vengeance. So, I'm just sitting home making friends with the Kleenex box and a bag of Halls.
But it keeps getting better. In addition to the lousy football day I had yesterday (Colts, Lions lose; Cowboys win; XP), I also read that the spring season of "Heroes" might be canceled if the on-going writer's strike continues (I don't care which moron started it, just finish it! *insert angry fist-shaking here*).
And we had a couple of people come look at the apartment over the weekend, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. My roommate really liked the girl that came on Saturday, but the girl didn't seem very interested in this apartment. On the other hand, the girl that came on Sunday seemed very interested, but I don't think my roommate liked her very much. In fact, my roommate told me that if the girl that came on Sunday wants the contract, I would have to tell her that we need to think about it.
What's to think about? I NEED to get out of this lease! The way response has been going and tapering off, if someone says they want the apartment, they are getting it. As far as I'm concerned, it's first come, first served. My mission papers will probably get sent in in the next two weeks and I'll get my call letter about two weeks after that. If we don't have someone to take over the lease by the time I leave, her rent is going to go up by virtue of the fact that I won't be around to pay my half. So, it is in both of our best interest to find somebody soon. I can ill afford to be picky.
The lone good news: despite the Colts' loss and the Steelers' defense's rather pitiful performance, I'm still in the lead in my fantasy football matchup this week. My uncle still has one wide receiver playing in Monday Night Football, but I think I'm enough ahead that I can win.
.... I need a nap...
