A Quick Vent (or something...)
Feb. 4th, 2006 09:19 pmI went to Ogden today to see my parents and my siblings and got to see
my uncle in the process. My dad did most of the talking (no
surprises there) and we also found out that in addition to my cousin
Jonathan getting married in March (this I knew), I found out that my
cousin Katie is getting married in July. That's all the cousins
from that family married (the oldest, Michael, got married August 2003
and already has a little boy). Everyone (read: mom and dad)
proceeded to lay the guilt on me because I have absolutely no dating
life, let alone any prospects for getting married. This thing
that really got me is that...okay, a little backstory:
Michael and Jon are the only two cousins older than me on my mom's side. Katie's about five months younger and graduated a year later than I did. That means I am the oldest granddaughter on that side and...yeah the news that Katie's engaged was a little disconcerting. And when you add the grating that I get from my mom and dad, it's frustrating, irritating and discouraging. It's not that they mean anything by it. I know it's mostly my dad being goofy, but it's getting a little old.
So, who do I complain to? That's right, nobody! (via LiveJournal)
In other irony, tonight was the one night that I had free to do some fun things and no one is here to have fun with. It seems like everyone in the complex has gone home for the weekend. Just my luck.

PS, Apologies for the incredible depressing-ish-ness.
