Well, I've done it.  I've written my last column for the Utah Statesman.  And it's all about... blogging.  I was going to write about illegal immigration, but I wanted to do something fun for my last column.  Plus, I didn't want it to turn into "The Persian Peacock Affair, Revisited."  Immigration is such a hot topic that everyone and their dog's mom has written about it and anything I said would just be the same as somebody else.  Plus, it's politics and government, which I hate to discuss on a college campus because everyone is so deluded about it, even though they call it "Intellectual Discussion".  I've already ranted about this here, so I'm going to go back into it again.  It was probably around the end of February or beginning of March, so go look it up.

Back to my blogging column, the best part is that I published the address for my LiveJournal in my column, so we'll see how that goes and if anyone bothers to check it out.  I've yet to see if that was a good thing or not.  I won't know until after tomorrow when the next issue of the paper comes out.  Hopefully it won't kill my LJ.  Hmmm, I'll have to write a "Greetings, Y'all" entry just for the truly brave who actually care to read my column.  Maybe if they convince me enough, I'll come back next year (and the Yeti's mother-in-law is going to grant me three wishes and take me to live in a Tibetan monastery with gummie peachies and Kool-Aid for everyone).

Finals are two weeks away and I have more projects due than I know what to do with.  I turned two in yesterday and today (they were in-class presentations, but one was in French and was about ready to send my screaming into the hills).  I have a paper due the last day of Finals, but the book for it has to be back to the library by next Wednesday, so I'm kinda crunched for time for that.  Then, I have my Poetry Writing portfolio that I've completely neglected in favor of these other things.  I need to have a Poem #7 done by 3:00 this afternoon and I am at a loss.  I never thought this would happen.  Oh well, such is the life of a Writer/English Teacher.

LeakyNews.com must be down.  I can't get on, though I doubt it's changed much since this morning.

I just got back from work and I saw that there was an empty couch.  This has been a new phenomenon in recent weeks, since my roommates Des got engaged.  It used to be that Des and Brandon would be lounging on the couch in various states of mush and gooeyness nearly every time I came home from school/work/errands/whatever.  Now, the couch is blissfully empty and I don't have to worry that I'm walking in on something that's a little embarrassing.  it wasn't ever anything that they would have to visit with the bishop about, but it's the sort of thing that regular single people are curious about, but have the propriety (or desire to keep lunch down) to look away when it happens.

Also, I just received an e-mail about the Statesman banquet on May 1 at the Copper Mill.  I would love to go, since the Copper Mill is one of the nicer restaurants in town and this function would be FREE, but it's on a Monday and that's when I can get the most hours from work.  Besides, I'm not really that attached to anyone on the Statesman staff (well, if Steve Shinney quit writing, I would be somewhat crushed.  Though, maybe Jimmy Pride would come in and take over and I would forget about ol' what's-his-name).

Speaking of work, we have been given the Almighty Power of listening to the calls after they have been made.  One of the dialers that submitted a survey did some things that were not good, and I found out that it was Alli, who is one of my IWA girls that only recently started working at Western Wats (maybe two or three weeks ago).  Lindsey, one of the other editors, was saying some not nice things about her, but I came to her defense the best that I could because Lindsey kinda, sorta had a point (Alli probably shouldn't have said the "blah-blah-blah" thing, but that's beside the point).  Plus, Lynne, our Lead Editor, was on the other editor's side.  I suck at debating, especially when I am obligated to agree with the other side.  I just don't want Alli to lose her job over something so stupid.  It's probably too late for me, anyway (see previous entries for why specifically.  At least, I hope it's on LiveJournal.  Might be on MySpace: www.blog.myspace.com/cj_1985).

Hee, that's funny.  I jsut spell-checked this entry and LiveJournal is marked as spelled wrong.  That's funny. ^_^

G'night all.  Look for my blogging article in tomorrows Statesman!
